On 15 July 2022, Commissioner Darren Hine presented a certificate to Inspector Michael Johnston on behalf of the Tasmania Police Charity Trust.

Inspector Johnston was a Board member from 2014 to 2021 and committed many hours of his own time to raising money to assist children in need. In particular, Inspector Johnston managed the Charity Trust Annual Golf Day over a number of years.
